Oud FAQ
New to oud or choosing your next perfume oil? Here are answers to common questions about wearing, choosing and caring for your fragrance. For details about a particular oil, check its product information and packaging, or ask Sukar Oud before ordering.
How do perfume oils differ from sprays?
Perfume oils are applied directly in small amounts, while sprays disperse fragrance as a mist. The format alone does not tell you the full ingredients, alcohol content, strength or how long a fragrance will last. Check the individual product rather than assuming every oil or spray has the same formula.
How should I apply perfume oil?
Follow the directions on your product packaging. Begin with a small amount on a pulse point, such as a wrist, rather than applying generously straight away. Allow time to experience the scent before deciding whether to add more. Follow any product-specific warnings and do not apply to irritated or broken skin.
How long will it last, and how far will it project?
Longevity means how long you can notice a fragrance; projection describes how far its scent carries. Both can vary with the formula, amount applied, skin and surroundings. An oil is not automatically stronger or longer-lasting than a spray. We do not give a fixed number of hours or a guaranteed projection distance in this FAQ.
Is oud too intense for a beginner?
Not necessarily. Choose by the individual fragrance description and your preferences, rather than the word oud alone. Our current product descriptions describe Velvet Oud as rich and bold, Niya as soft and floral, Qatar Al Nada as clean and delicate, and Moonlight Amber as light and refreshing. These are scent descriptions, not guarantees of strength. Start with a small amount and allow the fragrance to develop before adding more.
What ingredients and fragrance allergens are in the oils?
Ingredients are product-specific. A scent note or fragrance description is not a complete ingredient list. This FAQ does not provide verified full ingredient or allergen lists for each oil. Check the product packaging and available product information; if you need clarification, ask Sukar Oud for the exact oil's ingredient and declared allergen information before purchasing or using it.
Are the oils alcohol-free, natural or suitable for sensitive skin?
Do not assume any of these from the term perfume oil. This FAQ does not make a range-wide alcohol-free, natural, hypoallergenic or sensitive-skin suitability claim. If you have a known allergy or sensitivity, review the exact product information before use. If it is unavailable or unclear, do not rely on the fragrance description to decide whether the product is suitable for you.
How should I store my perfume oil?
Follow any storage instructions on the packaging first. As general fragrance-care guidance, keep the bottle tightly closed, upright and away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Avoid leaving it in a hot car or on a sunny windowsill.
What is the shelf life, and how long can I keep it after opening?
We do not give a single shelf-life estimate for every oil. Check the packaging for an expiry date or period-after-opening symbol and follow the product's instructions. If no guidance is available, ask Sukar Oud about the specific product before relying on an estimated date. A noticeable change in smell, colour or texture is a reason to stop using it and seek product-specific advice; appearance alone cannot confirm that a product remains suitable to use.
Does an oud fragrance contain pure agarwood oil, and where is it sourced?
The word oud in a fragrance name or scent description does not, by itself, verify pure agarwood oil content, concentration, country of origin or sourcing method. We do not make purity, natural-origin, certification or sustainability claims in this FAQ without product-specific supporting information. If these details matter to your choice, ask Sukar Oud what verified information is available for the exact oil before ordering.
Still have a question?
Contact Sukar Oud with the product name and the details you would like to confirm. For ingredients, allergens, shelf life or sourcing, ask about the specific oil rather than relying on a general description of oud.
